Advanced technology displayed at innovation day

Experts addressed guests on clean coal technologies, minerals and mining research, longwall automation, advanced materials research, robots and wireless sensors, and aeronautical engineering.BRISBANE was host to the Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies’ (QCAT’s) fourth annual Innovation and Excellence Day on 1 August 2008.
The event featured mining research and technological developments which organisers and participants said had far-reaching implications for Australia’s future.
The day’s theme was ‘Impact through innovation’, highlighting how research at QCAT provided solutions to a variety of challenges faced by the mining and advanced manufacturing sectors.
CSIRO’s chief executive opened the event to leaders from government, industry and other major research institutions.

The event was held from 9:30am to 12:30 at the Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies, Pullenvale, Brisbane.
