ADVANTECH has launched a module suitable for bi-directional communication, which is fitted with four RS-232 ports.

The ADAM-5091 can simultaneously read data from any third-party device, such as a modem, a barcode readers or a PLC, which is fitted with a RS-232 interface.

The company says the unit also features a 128 byte FIFO, a 115.2Kbps communication speed, RJ-45 connectors, a TX/RX LED display and T x D, R x D, RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, DCD, RI and GND data signals.

The module can be fully integrated with the ADAM-4000 or -5000 series to transmit data to each other through the RS-232 port.
