SENATOR Kim Carr says 57 projects have received a total of $3.6m in grants from the Commercialising Emerging Technologies (COMET) grants.
The companies benefiting from the grants have developed a range of technologies.
Faulkner Technologies, for example was awarded $64,000 for its web-based business application development software, while Radar Portable Systems was awarded for its ground-penetrating radar system for imaging the subsurfaces of pavements, roads and highways.
The money can be used for strategic business planning, market research, intellectual property strategising and other technology activities.
A comprehensive list of all 57 grants recipients can be found at the AusIndustry website.
Senator Carr said Keep in Touch Australia, with support from its COMET business adviser, will use the $64,000 grant for a strategic business plan, market research, intellectual property strategy and proven technology activities.
