ROCKWELL Automation has announced its roadmap for process automation, including a new name for a unified end-to-end suite.

The PlantPAx systems and solutions portfolio unifies Rockwell’s core capabilities and technologies with those of the company’s partners like Endress+Hauser and acquisitions such as Incuity and Pavilion Technologies.

A key part of the PlantPAx portfolio is the process automation system. The system will continue to be expanded based on a combination of the Logix platform and FactoryTalk suite.

PlantPAx is expected to strengthen the company’s system engineering environment, offering process and batch control users a new library of reusable control objects with tools to simplify its deployment.

It is also expected to hold advantages for control and visualisation platforms, performance and process optimisation, batch and sequencing, process safety and critical control, and asset management.
