Autodesk acquires plastic moulding simulation software

AUTODESK has acquired and merged with a provider of injection moulding simulation software.

The acquisition of Moldflow will see the software developer becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Autodesk.

Moldflow provides plastics simulation software used to optimise part and mould designs for the plastic injection moulding industry. According to the companies, the software allows product optimisation from the earlier stages of development.

The software is suited for industrial designers, mechanical design engineers, CAE analysts, mould designers, mould makers, process engineers and manufacturing engineers.
