ARRK says its latest piece of equipment allows it to offer clients printing of 3D models in multiple materials.
According to the rapid prototyping company, it is the only Oceanian service provider with the latest Connex500 3D Digital Printing System. The system allows it to print parts and assemblies consisting of multiple model materials within a single build simultaneously.
Traditionally complex parts and models using more than one material required multiple step processes such as silicone tooling, gluing together separate parts, double injection and over moulding techniques.
The machine also allows the company to fabricate composite materials known as ‘Digital Materials’ on the fly. These ‘Digital Materials’ are created during the build process and have preset combinations of mechanical properties not found in single materials.
ARRK says the new printer allows designers to create numerous prototype options within one build, enabling faster evaluations and decisions.
