Rockwell Automation releases free programming software for MicroLogix PLCs

ROCKWELL Automation is offering a free copy of its MicroLogix Micro Starter Lite software which it claims can help streamline programming for MicroLogix PLCs.

According to Rockwell Automation, the downloadable application development software will allow users to create, modify and monitor application programs for the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix controllers.

The Micro Starter Lite software is designed for the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 and MicroLogix 1100 programmable controllers. Rockwell Automation says the free software streamlines users’ overall development and deployment processes.

Users of the MicroLogix 1100 controller can use the Micro Starter Lite software to modify application programs while machinery is operating. The MicroLogix 1000 and MicroLogix 1100 controllers share a common architecture and are compatible with the Allen-Bradley PanelView family of operator interface devices.

Rockwell Automation claims the MicroLogix 1000 programmable controller can handle a wide variety of demanding control applications at 32 I/O or below, while using less space than a full-size controller.
