RFID add-on combines barcode and tag functionalities
INTERMEC has released an add-on radio frequency identification (RFID) reader for their mobile computers.
According to the company, the IP30 is suited for the CN3, CN3e, CK61 and CK61ex computers. The snap-on design allows quick fitting to the devices.
The mobile add-on module has advanced data collection methods, GPS location association and communication via multiple radios, meaning it can read and write RFID both within and outside buildings.
The unit is said to be the first handheld RFID system with integrated GPS and WWAN when combined with the Intermec CN3 mobile computer.
When combined with the CK61ex, the system is the first with an integrated near/far barcode imager that allows users to scan both one dimensional and two dimensional barcodes from distances up to 15m.
