OMRON has released the SYSMAC CJ2 programmable logic controller CPU units which are designed to be used simultaneously for multiple communication connections.

The Omron SYSMAC CJ2 CPU units are said to have large program capacity, data memory capacity and a built-in EtherNet/IP-compatible multifunctional Ethernet port.

The SYSMAC CJ2 may be used simultaneously for FTP communications, data links and support software connections.
According to Omron, it can reduce the costs and time involved in designing and developing production equipment.

The flagship Omron SYSMAC CJ2 CPU unit can execute special instructions, including overseeing processing and floating-point math, and increased speed for immediate refreshing of basic I/O.

The unit supports the CIP communication protocol for direct access to multi-vendor devices. Development can be performed in parallel for the PLC, PT, and host application by using tags for data access through EtherNet/IP.
