ANSYS has released the latest version of FLUENT for CATIA V5 5.0, a rapid flow modelling tool fully embedded into Dassault Systeme’s Product Lifecycle Management.
According to ANSYS, this allows design and process engineers working within CATIA V5 to validate their designs much earlier in the product development cycle.
ANSYS claims the latest release contains a number of new features and enhancements, such as the volume of fluid (VOF) model which allows users to design fuel cells, automotive fuel tanks, pumps and marine equipment.
The company says several enhancements have also been made for large model handling including consistent numbering and highlighting of solid and fluid sides of walls. For problems involving mapping of pressure or temperature data to FEA models for Fluid Structure Interaction, it is now possible to select geometric features from the viewer or solid features from the specification tree as supports.
