AMCOR’s glass division will use SolveIT Software’s Advanced Planning and Scheduling system to organise the production of more than a million bottles a day.

Amcor Glass says it selected SolveIT Software’s APS system after reviewing a number of software packages for constrained production planning and scheduling.

During the tender process, SolveIT Software demonstrated the functionality of its APS system using Amcor data, showing the system’s ability to handle all of Amcor’s business rules and constraints graphical environment.

SolveIT Software’s APS System will be used by Amcor to maximise customer service levels, improve production efficiency, and minimise costs.

The implementation of the APS system has commenced at Amcor Glass’s packaging plant near Barossa Valley, with full integration scheduled for late January 2010.
