ENDRESS+HAUSER chief operating officer Michael Ziesemer will visit the Australian head office in Sydney on 12 February 2010 to discuss how current automation trends will affect the Australian market in the future.
According to Endress+Hauser, Ziesemer has 37 years of experience and is a well-renowned and respected figure in the process instrumentation industry in Europe.
Ziesemer will address trends in fieldbusses and the integration between field and control systems as well as the role of web technologies in process control. Vendor Managed Inventory, Ethernet and Wireless HART are also on the agenda.
Endress+Hauser Australia managing director John Immelman says Ziesemer’s visit is timely, given the recent growth forecasts for Australia’s economy.
“But the industry is by no means out of the woods and the threat of increasing capacity constraints is looming. The manufacturing sector is currently contracting and it’s going to require significant effort to improve productivity and growth in the workforce,” Ziesemer said.
“Process automation and instrumentation will play key roles in the future of the Australian economy and our aim as a company is to help our customers improve efficiencies so they can increase productivity and become more competitive in the global marketplace.”
Endress+Hauser says Ziesemer has been with the company for almost 30 years. After working as a telecommunications engineer and research and development engineer for flow and level measurement systems, he joined Endress+Hauser as head of Product Management in Maulburg, Germany in 1981.
Ziesemer takes an active part in a number of professional organisations including ZVEI, VDI, HART and ISA.
