Nothing lost in translation with accurate digital prototyping

IMAGINIT has written on how it has helped Australian rapid prototyping company Andrew Rogers Industrial Design (ARID) break into the Chinese market.

ARID offers a range of services such as product design, commercialisation, graphic design, prototyping and short run production. It has helped clients design a wide range of products from microscopes to forklifts.

With its office opening in China, the company wanted to use 3D modelling technology to ensure file compatibility and minimise communication errors between its workshops.

IMAGINiT provided the company with a suite of software, including Autodesk Inventor and 3ds Max, both of which are detailed digital prototyping products to help smooth the transition from initial concept to working product.

Digital prototyping allows users to test the product before making a physical prototype. The software helped make the process quicker and more accurate, reducing errors while communicating across language barriers.

According to ARID, the exactness of the data means manufacturers in China understand what is needed without having to interpret the drawings. The company has also praised the support and update structure provided by IMAGINiT.
