M/A-Com Technology Solutions has released a new sensor-based RFID forklift system.
According to the company, the RFID Forklift System automatically records a RFID-tagged pallet’s exact storage during handling and slotting processes, without requiring manual data collection on the part of the operator. This could result in superior accuracy and efficiency.
The technology can be retrofitted on new or existing forklifts. The system uses an acoustic sensor, broad beam antenna, and controller logic to identify the RFID pallet tag.
The system then identifies the pallet storage location using a narrow beam antenna, laser-height sensor and controller logic, and confirms if that specific pallet has been picked up or dropped off at that location.
All these transactions are fed to the enterprise system using WiFi connectivity.
