SIEMENS Industrial Automation Division is releasing modular expansion units for its Simatic Human Machine Interface (HMI) device series.
According to the company, the modular components are suited for plant-specific operator control and monitoring tasks. They include pushbuttons, illuminated pushbuttons, lamps, switches, USB ports and emergency stop buttons.
The components can be attached to the left side, right side, or both sides of the Multi Panel 377 Pro, the Thin Client Pro, or the Flat Panel Monitor Pro.
These add-ons, when properly fitted to the HMI device, will also endow the system with IP65 protection. Expansion units are wired up directly to the support arm system, independently of the HMI device.
