SIEMENS has released a new version of its product lifecycle management (PLM) geometric modelling component software.
Parasolid 19.1 is said to be designed around sophisticated workflow operations involving complex design and manufacturing processes. The software developer says it has enhanced modelling across a range of functional areas, in accordance with the demands of its clients.
The software can now perform hollow operations on a selected portion of a model, giving applications greater flexibility when dealing with large and complex models.
It can also generate a surface from a sparse set of points and normal vectors, allowing developers to accelerate their design in the context of existing geometry. The software will also automatically detect and repair self-intersecting geometry.
Version 19.1 of Parasolid is also the first release which supports 64-bit Apple Mac OS X Leopard, allowing Apple users to use 64-bit technology to increase their productivity.
